Description

Connect a chain of words by the last letter of one word to the first letter of the next.

Details

All Japanese students should know "shiritori". It's a kind of chain game where a list of words are written down and the next word must begin with the last letter of the previous word.

Works well in a class room as a relay, where one row is a team and the person in the front is given the chalk to start the game. The teacher starts by writing a word in each team's space on the board. When the game starts, the first student runs up to the board to write the next word, runs back, and gives the chalk to the next student in the row. When the teacher yells to stop, points are given for each correctly spelled word in the chain.

Works best if a theme is given, like "food".
If the word is "banana" the next must start with "a"
banana -> apple -> egg -> grape -> eggplant -> tea -> apricot -> toast -> tangerine -> ..... sometimes you get stuck, so be careful!

Themes:
school
sports
summer vacation
at home
