Description
Details
1: Give the students a topic (eg. what did you do on your summer vacation?)
2: Divide the class into halves and designate one half as the 'questioners' and the other half as the speakers.
3: Have the students line up in pairs (facing each other). One line is the 'questioner' and one line is the speakers.
4: With the sound of the bell or some such thing the 'quetioners' must begin asking the speakers questions about the topic. They must continue to ask questions until the bell rings again. When the bell rings again, the speakers must move one partner to their right and the whole process starts again.
5: At the half-way point switch roles for them (eg. questioners become speakers and vice versa).
6: If the students are stuck on how to say something they must ask the teacher (How do you say naninani in English?) The teacher then writes this on the board for all to see.
7: This exercise may help facilitate some more natural phrases we use in English as well as getting them familiar with natural conversations.
